The Khumjung School WaSH project
Khumjung School is the first school of Himalayan Trust, it did not have a gender-friendly toilet with the flush water system. This is because there was no reliable water supply in the past. But now, since the last two years, the village has been well sourced with good drinking water supply. Therefore, HTN, in coordination with the School Management Committee (SMC), decided to build the gender-friendly toilets. The funding for this model toilet was available from Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation of Canada. The toilet construction project was completed in June 2018 and handed over to the SMC by the CEO Dr. Mingma Norbu Sherpa of Himalayan Trust Nepal and the School Reconstruction Committee Chairperson Mr. Ang Tashi Sherpa to the SMC Chairperson Mr. Chheme Tshering Sherpa on the 30th of June, 2018
